What Is Skin Rejuvenation?
Skin rejuvenation is a process used to repair the appearance of wrinkled or damaged skin. Skin rejuvenation diminishes the look of wrinkles, repairs sun damage or darkened areas of the skin, and removes freckles and protruding veins against the skin.
Different Types of Skin Rejuvenation Procedures
Chemical peels:
During a chemical peel process, a solution is applied to the face and then gently removed. This solution removes the upper layers of the skin to address age spots, discoloration, fine lines, and freckles. The results are a smoother, more even skin surface against the face.
Microdermabrasion:
This process is used to remove the outer layer of old or dried skin cells. It is most often used to reduce wrinkles, remove age spots, or repair the look and feel of coarse skin. Crystal microdermabrasion involves the spraying of microcrystals, made from aluminum dioxide, against the skin. This substance resembles sand and therefore is somewhat like a sand blasting process against the skin.
Collagen Injections:
Collagen works alongside elastin and is injected into the skin to support body tissues. Once the collagen has been injected, it grants the skin firmness and strength.
Laser Treatments:
A laser is often used to treat blemishes against the face or protruding veins. A single laser beam is broken into small fractions which penetrate the top layer of the skin. As the laser goes into the skin, it reduces excess pigmentation, thus repairing the appearance of the damaged skin.
