Kybella™ in San Antonio and Boerne, TX
Located in Boerne and serving San Antonio and the surrounding areas of Texas, Dr. Elizabeth McRae offers Kybella™ treatments to her patients seeking to eliminate the fat beneath their chin, often referred to as “double chin”.
What Is Kybella™?
Kybella™ is the first and only FDA-approved nonsurgical treatment that contours and improves the appearance of submental fullness. Kybella™ is a prescription medicine used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat) also called “double chin.”

How Does Kybella™ Work?
Deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat, is the active ingredient in Kybella™.
When Kybella™ is injected into the fat beneath your chin, it causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells can no longer store or accumulate fat.
An innovative treatment FOR SUBMENTAL FULLNESS
What Is Submental Fullness?
Submental fullness, sometimes referred to as “double chin”, is a common yet undertreated facial aesthetic condition that can impact a broad range of adults, including both men and women. Causes may include:
- Aging: It may naturally develop as you age.
- Genetics: Simply said, it may be part of your DNA.
- Weight gain: It may be a result of gaining weight.
Sometimes, regardless of how much you diet or exercise, the condition may not go away, and can make you look older and heavier than your actual age and weight.
If You Are Bothered By Submental Fullness, You’re Not Alone
According to a 2014 survey conducted by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS):
- 60% of people said they’re bothered by submental fullness

How Is Kybella™ Administered?
Typically given in 15 to 20-minute treatment sessions, Dr. McRae will give you a series of Kybella™ injections into the fat under your chin.
A customized treated plan will be established by you and Dr. McRae based on the amount of submental fullness you have and your treatment goals.
