What is SkinPen® Microneedling?
Collagen is an important part of young, healthy skin because the protein gives tissues shape and structure. Collagen is found in almost every tissue in your body. What is Scarlet®?
Scarlet® RF is a skin tightening treatment that delivers fractional radiofrequency energy directly into the skin through microneedling. This technique targets problems in the skin and treats the skin where collagen is released and produced. This procedure works by delivering heat and radiofrequency energy directly to the skin to stimulate collagen. It is used to treat the appearance of sagging skin, wrinkles, acne scars, pores and stretch marks.

How is Scarlet® Performed?
Scarlet® is a non-invasive procedure. This treatment can be performed on the face and all areas of the body. The applicator is applied directly to the skin and transfers radiofrequency energy through microneedling to provide results.

How Many Treatments are Needed?
Each patient is unique, so the number of treatments needed will best be determined by your physician. It is typical, however, that most patients receive 3 treatments per year to maximize their results and rejuvenation.
Is Scarlet® Painful?
Scarlet® is not intended to be painful. Some patients experience slight discomfort during the procedure, but because it is non-invasive, it is not as painful as other skin tightening treatments. Scarlet® also has the shortest heating time among radiofrequency devices and extremely small needles for microneedling. These two factors make the procedure more comfortable than other similar treatments.
How Long Does a Scarlet® Treatment Take?
When Scarlet® is applied to the neck, the treatment should only take 10 minutes to complete. When Scarlet® is applied to the face or any other part of the body, the procedure may take up to 20 minutes. The time needed for each treatment session will depend on the size of the area being treated and the condition that is being treated.
Do I Have to Follow Up with my Doctor?
There is no follow up required. It is recommended that you follow the direction of your physician and go back for the next round of treatments if it is suggested that you need more. Basic skin care and proper use of sunscreen are sufficient after care for Scarlet®.
How Long Do Scarlet® Results Last?
Scarlet® treatment results can last 6 months to one year. Skin tightening can be seen almost immediately after the procedure, but dermal remodeling of the skin can take 2-3 months to see measurable results.
