How Does SkinPen® Microneedling Work?
Microneedling with SkinPen® works by leveraging your body’s healing process. When you suffer an injury to your skin, the body responds by filling in the area with collagen fibers. SkinPen® is a device that is designed with a series of very fine needles that penetrate the outer layers of skin to form micro-channels. Your body interprets these micro-channels as new miniature injuries and produces more collagen in the area.
What Results Can I Expect?
Peak collagen production can take several weeks, so you will notice a gradual improvement in skin texture and color. Because the changes are so subtle, we often recommend that our patients take photos at home for comparison.
