Botox in San Antonio and Boerne, TX
What Is Botox®?
Botox® Cosmetic is a quick, safe treatment designed to temporarily reduce frown lines between the brows and on the forehead, as well as crow’s feet. This FDA-approved procedure involves a series of small injections of a purified protein directly into the muscle. The effects usually last three to six months, whereupon treatment can be repeated for continual, long-lasting results.
If you’re a resident of Boerne, TX, San Antonio, TX, Fredericksburg, TX, or the surrounding areas and want to learn more about the benefits of Botox®, call McRae MD Medical Laser Spa today. Our friendly staff is on hand to answer all of your questions, discuss average Botox® prices, and even show you some Botox® before and after photos.
How Is Botox® Performed?
The Botox® procedure is performed in our office and should take only a few minutes. Our trained Botox® technician will use a very fine needle to inject the diluted botulinum toxin type A solution into the targeted facial muscles. Once the Botox® begins to take effect, your facial muscles will appear relaxed and wrinkle-free, leaving you with a much more youthful, rejuvenated appearance.

Am I a Good Candidate for Botox®?
If you want to rid your face of fine lines and wrinkles, but you’re not yet ready for a more serious surgical procedure, Botox® may be the perfect solution for you. Botox® is extremely effective in reducing the appearance of forehead creases, crow’s feet and laugh lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth. In addition, Botox® has been approved to treat the following disorders:
- Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)
- Dystonia (muscle spasms)
- Chronic pain
- Jaw tension
- Uncontrolled blinking
- Lazy eye
If you have any specific questions, please call our offices today to set up a personal, one-on-one consultation.
What Kind of Post-Operative Botox® Care Can I Expect?
Botox® has been appropriately dubbed a “lunchtime procedure,” as patients experience little to no downtime. After the injection, you’re free to resume normal daily activities immediately. There are no incisions, bandages, or anything of the like, and side effects are typically limited to some minor bruising and headaches.
Your doctor may advise you, however, to avoid lying down for at least four hours or rubbing the treated area for at least 12 hours after the procedure, as this could cause the solution to travel to other areas of the body.
What Are the Typical Results of Botox®?
Most of our Botox® patients are thrilled with their results, which includes younger, more supple-looking skin following treatment. It’s important to remember, however, that Botox® is not a permanent solution. While results last from three to six months, the treated muscles will eventually regain their ability to contract and the wrinkles will reappear. Follow-up injections are recommended at this point.
We recommend taking a look at some Botox® before and after photos before making any decisions so you can visualize the results you should likely expect.
What Are Botox® Costs in San Antonio, TX?
Each patient is different and has different goals in mind, so Botox® prices tend to vary. We recommend setting up an initial consultation, during which Dr. McRae or one of our trained technicians can assess your specific needs and discuss average Boerne Botox® prices. A member of our friendly staff will be happy to accommodate you.
